Researchers from Tech4Medics Lab presented their work at the XI IRPA Regional Congress / XIII Regional Congress on Radiological and Nuclear Safety, held in Medellín, Colombia.

Víctor Castañeda and Denisse Karl represented the research group at this international scientific meeting, presenting three contributions during the session on Technological Innovation, Artificial Intelligence, and Emerging Applications.
The presentations addressed the use of artificial intelligence to improve mammography positioning and reduce repeat exposures, the application of deep learning algorithms to breast density estimation in mammography (MG) and digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) for dosimetric optimization, and the implementation of a decentralized mammography quality control course to strengthen optimization and radiation protection in Chile.
The congress also provided opportunities for international cooperation and scientific exchange. The researchers held discussions with representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) on radiation protection.
In addition, they held strategic working meetings with academics from the University of Antioquia, including Juan Fernando Mesa, from the Living Lab Parque de la Vida, Digital Hospital, and Rafael Posada, from the Antioquia Neuroscience Group.
These activities strengthen Tech4Medics Lab’s commitment to applied research, artificial intelligence, digital health, and the development of scientific collaborations that contribute to innovation in healthcare.
